CHANG AND SHEMEZA TOMORROW NIGHT
The boys are weighed in and ready for an epic battle in Sydney tomorrow night when Pacific Games gold medalist Jamie Chang takes on undefeated Kenyan boxer Emmanuel Shemeza in a thrilling 6-round super flyweight contest at the Grand Vaudeville function centre.
Shemeza hails from the much vaunted Akkawy Gym, and the tall unbeaten 3-0 prospect is already being hailed as a future world prospect.
But he won't have it all his own way !
Jamie Chang shapes as one of Papua New Guinea's top boxing prospects.
He makes his international professional debut courtesy of VSP Promotions. who are working overtime to make great fights for boxers in the Asian region while the local Vietnam scene remains a shambles.
Jamie Chang's appearance comes on the heels of his impressive knockout victory at Port Moresby's Sir John Guise stadium, where he overcame a wrist injury in training to claim his an emphatic victory.
Chang's coach, Ephraim Montoru, is confident in his fighter's abilities, stating
"Jamie is a very good all-round boxer - he does everything right."
However, Montoru also acknowledges that there's still room for improvement, saying
"We are definitely still a work in progress.
The best is yet to come, and exciting times are ahead!"
