When talking about the fabled Vietnamese Tiger fighting spirit, they surely must have based the narrative around Thai Hoang Huy ! His ring name is Nak Su, which naturally enough, means WARRIOR. .
Things about to get serious in Vũng Tàu tonight when boxers from 10 countries descend upon the shores of The Grand Ho Tram.
Vietnam will be represented Thai Hoang Huy and the legendary Tran Van Thao at the big show which will feature the WBO Global Title fight as it's main event.
Tran Van Thao and Thai Hoang Huy will fly the Vietnam flag at this Saturday night's big international show at The Grand Ho Tram Resort and Casino.
The "Trigger" Thao resumes from more than a year out of the ring, and takes on gritty Mexican Kenbun Torres (12-4)
Thai Hoang Huy only debuted in early 2023, and has already amassed 4 wins, but has a big task against a hot opponent from Botswana. He meets Moabi "the Eagle" Ngaka - a two time junior gold medal winner at amateur before turning pro, and now a WBF title holder in Africa.
The international event is headlined by a WBO title match, and will be supervised by Vietnam Boxing Organization.
The action takes place in Vũng Tàu from 6pm this Saturday November 18th.

This time last year Muay Thai fighter Thai Hoang Huy was looking to make his boxing debut.
And what a debut !
The fighter dubbed "Naksu" (which means WARRIOR in Muay Thai) fought an exhibition with Philippines famed KILLER JonJon Estrada - a boxer with 16 wins and ouch ! - 14 Knockouts.
That exhibition bout inspired Thai Hoang Huy to turn professional - and the Ho Chi Minh City boxer now owns the impressive record of 4 wins and one split decision loss in his five bouts to date.
Certainly not one to walk away from a challenge, Naksu now has some huge news breaking !
Thai Hoang Huy will represent Vietnam at an international event at The Grand Ho Tram Resort and Casino on November 18th on a top class card assembled by Cocky Buffalo Promotions.
Huy will take on Botswana hotshot Moabi Ngaka, in what will be a prelude for the African boxer's title fight in late December.
Ngaka was a superb amateur that has transitioned impressively to the pro format, and is now regarded as his country’s best fighter.
And Ngaka will take his own place in history, as this will be the first time we get to see an African boxer perform in Vietnam.
Thai Hoang Huy has been one of the consistent improvers at VSP PRO this year, and we wish him lots of luck in this monumental yet exciting challenge that lay ahead.
Improving novice Thai Hoàng Huy went on the attack in round two, after trailing 10-8 in the early scorecards.
Huy was unfortunate in round one, after appearing to slip just prior to receiving a glancing blow, and was deducted two points for the knockdown.
But the former muay thai fighter quickly made up for it, landing a peach of an uppercut on Tran Ngọc Phuong Hieu to end the battle in stunning fashion.
Despite his inexperience as a boxer, Thai Hoang Huy has improved markedly since he debuted, and moves to 4-1 as a professional.

Thai Hoang Huy has proved one of the most popular prospects on the circuit this year, and will be aiming for his 4th win as a professional at this month's show.
Huy will take on Omega Boxing’s talltimber Tran Ngọc Phuong Hieu, who is on debut but extremely confident of a first up victory at the iconic VSP Gym.

Hiệp 1: Tốc độ nhập cuộc rất nhanh và chỉ sau hơn 10 giây Thái Hoàng Huy đã có cú móc phải rất nặng trúng mặt khiến Phạm Minh Thắng loạng choạng. Sau gần 2 phút, Hoàng Huy tiếp tục có tình huống ép Minh Thắng vào ring và tung ra combo đòn khiến đối thủ suýt ngã xuống sàn.

Hiệp 3: Thể lực của Minh Thắng bắt đầu suy giảm và Hoàng Huy đã dồn ép đối thủ vào ring liên tục tung ra những đòn hook và body-shot.
Có thể thấy nỗ lực tìm cách dứt điểm trận đấu bằng những cú upper-cut của Hoàng Huy và rất may mắn Minh Thắng mới trụ vững.
Hiệp 4: Hoàng Huy bất ngờ giảm tốc bằng những đòn jab cơ bản nhằm hạn chế sự hưng phấn và nỗ lực vùng lên của Minh Thắng. Và dù là đòn jab cơ bản thì Hoàng Huy vẫn ghi điểm khá tốt.Và trước khi kết thúc trận đấu Hoàng Huy vẫn kịp ghim đòn tay rất nặng trúng mặt đối thủ.

HCMC boxer Thai Hoang Huy returns for VSP PRO next Saturday May 27th, and is promising to show improvements to his game, but still deliver plenty of thrills along the way.
The 57kg former muay thai fighter will jump to 63.5kg for his upcoming bout, but is happy to do so in order to gain more ring time.
"Nak Su" (Warrior) won by stoppage on debut, before a narrow split decision loss in March, and is under no illusions about his task in boxing.

The Grand Ho Tram situated in the southern beach area of Vung Tau is simply iconic, and as the name suggests, they have some very GRAND plans.

The Fortunes of War event brings together many of Asia's best fighters for the very first time, and will host three title matches sanctioned by the IBF and WBO.

Trong đó, vai trò của các nhà quảng bá (promoter) là rất quan trọng.
Các nhà quảng bá - hay chúng ta vẫn thường biết tới với tên gọi những "ông bầu" có nhiệm vụ mang về những hợp đồng cho võ sĩ. Hiện tại, trên thế giới các nhà quảng bá sẽ kiếm tiền theo 4 cách chính sau đây.

- Tiền tài trợ - quảng cáo từ các nhãn hàng: khi võ sĩ xây dựng được hình ảnh và tên tuổi, nhà quảng bá sẽ tìm kiếm các thương hiệu có nhu cầu tài trợ, hoặc thuê võ sĩ làm đại diện hình ảnh, quảng cáo cho sản phầm.
- Tiền gửi võ sĩ thi đấu: các nhà quảng bá của võ sĩ sẽ kiếm tiền từ việc gửi các võ sĩ ra nước ngoài thi đấu. Lúc này, bên trả tiền là nhà quảng bá đối tác tổ chức sự kiện.
Thế nhưng, với thực tế ở thị trường Việt Nam, các võ sĩ đã có thể kiếm thu nhập từ 4 nguồn trên hay chưa? Liệu có trở ngại nào, từ chủ quan tới khách quan mà họ phải đối mặt để thực sự biến Boxing chuyên nghiệp thành một nghề nuôi sống bản thân hay không? Cagayan de Oro son Mark John Yap dominates before a third round stoppage over Bangladesh boxer Hasan Sikdar.
Elorde boxer Yap was originally scheduled to fight a high level opponent here at The Grand Ho Tram Resort and Casino, but injuries and other fight card changes meant that featherweight Sikdar stepped up at short notice.
Great job by the Bangladesh boxer to survive early, but Yap's relaxed ring control had his rival constantly on the back foot and under a lot of pressure.
Watch for the change of gears in round three when Trainer Jetro Pabustan tells Yap to put the foot down on the accelerator and put an end to it.

Baldonado, who many remember for giving Wonder Boy Carl Jammes Martin a torrid battle, takes on unbeaten Yoshiki Takei (6-0)
Takei is a bona fide killer - all 6 wins have come by knockout, but Baldonado is a mad dog with plenty of firepower of his own.

The Hanoi based fighter showed huge potential with her successful debut at VSP PRO in February, and it appears the sky is the limit for Ngo Ngọc Linh Chi.

Philippines veteran champion Richard Pumicpic was tagged with the moniker "The Beast" from earliest days :

Anwar has a very impressive record, but is yet to fight someone the calibre of an "in form" Toquero, so there is the potential for an upset tomorrow night in Dubai.

It took former national boxing champion Nguyen Van Hai just 12 seconds to take down the on-form Abdul Motalib of Bangladesh at the international boxing event WBO Global Prelude.
Before the lightweight (61 kg) fight on Saturday night, Mottalib was in great form with five consecutive wins, including two victories by knockout. Hai, who has won the national championship for 14 consecutive times, also had five wins in six professional fights.
At the official weigh-in before the fight in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province that borders HCMC, Mottalib tried to provoke Hai by standing in front of him and blocking his view during the press conference. But Hai kept his composure.
There was not much to say about the fight as 12 seconds in, Hai threw a powerful and staggering right hook that immediately floored Motalib. The referee stopped the fight and gave a knockout win to Hai. This is his third knockout win after seven professional fights.
Boxers work very hard, but so too do the gentleman that preside over the regulatory frame that keeps our sport vibrant and our fighters as safe as possible.
A big shout out to these four - Vietnam's Lim Song, the Philippines' Richard Clarin, Japan's Tsuyoshi Yasukochi and South Korea's Aaron Jang - strident men who all share a unified vision of creating more opportunities for athletes in their respective countries.
A notable omission is China's Samson Lu, who flew back early, but has been an invaluable and encouraging mentor to Vietnam boxing.

Mark John Yap has proved to be one of the best performed pinoys on the international circuit in recent years, and plans to add to his imposing record on the road in Vietnam this month.
The boxer affectionately dubbed "The Journey Man", and more recently as "Fat Yap", appears on a big show at The Grand Ho Tram Resort and Casino, amongst a strong lineup of fighters from many different countries.
Yap was impressive in winning in Manila in January, then followed up with a three month break to welcome the birth of his first child Yuri. He has slowly worked back into fight shape, and performed in an exhibition bout in Ho Chi Minh City last month.
And it was trademark Yap !
Despite getting off to a slow start, Mark John Yap proved too physical for national youth boxer Nguyễn Hà Minh, dropping him twice in the final round.
Yap will be looking for an emphatic showing on July 15th, before eyeing off bigger matches later this year.

MIndanao's boxing legend Mark John Yap is showing no signs of slowing, and will be back in the ring again at a big international event in Vietnam next month.
Yap considered retirement after returning from Japan, which was shortly followed by the pandemic - but was coaxed to lace up one more time in a WBA Title match with Charly Suarez.
His performance was outstanding, and he followed it up with two quality wins shortly after.
The Journey Man was on a short break since January, after welcoming the birth of baby daughter Yuri, and he put on some kilos in that time.
Yap has been on a six week training camp, and competed in an exhibition bout last month with Vietnam youth team member Nguyễn Hà Minh. Despite looking "rusty" early in the match, he dropped his opponent twice in the final round to etch an impressive victory.
Having just recently arriving in Manila, Yap has been under the tutelage of Jetro Pabustan, who put him through a pads session today.
