"Long and lean and doubly mean" fight machine Glenn "Apocalypse" Bismanos returns this September for a date with popular Roy Roy Sumugat.
Bismanos resumed from a long spell in February of this year, and reminded everyone that he had lost none of the magic when he fought the extremely promising Ali Canega to a draw. In a really entertaining bout, Bismanos probably was the more creative, but gave back some of this advantage to a more structured Canega with concentration lapses. Ali Canega has looked superb in subsequent sparring with some quality boxers, so it gives a good insight into how well Bismanos performed.
Impossible not to be excited about this bout, as both fighters will have physical and tactical differences to overcome. Glenn Bismanos, the boxer originally from Sipalay City, has the chance to create an APOCALYPSE wherever he goes!
This great pic was from the Reboot show way back in February 2021, and it was a major accomplishment by Mam Cucuy Elorde to pull it off!
Charly Suarez had been inactive (as were all local pinoy fighters) and the pandemic was proving to be a terrible time for many boxers who could not return home, and even worse, having a daily battle to feed themselves and their families.
VSP asked Mam Cucuy if it was possible to create a show so that Charly Suarez could resume his career. Despite all odds, she put together a great card that also unearthed another big talent - the Wolverine JonJon Estrada!
The event was aptly named Reboot "New Beginning" ,and even though there were only 5 bouts, and the boxers had to endure a "quarantine bubble", it was a lot of fun and marked the start of boxing again in the Philippines.
